I began this project believing that I knew everything that needs to be known about colour, I have been living in a colourful world for the past 18 years right? But I was intrigued when I realised how wrong I was. This project helped me realise the power of colour, a power that earlier my eyes failed to noticed. Recreating the colour swatches of everyday items made me understand the depth and layers to simple shades. It made me appreciate the purple hue behind an apple and the orange hue of a ketchup. This activity was extremely enriching. This project helped me to exercise my senses, and heighten them. “Mere colour can speak to the soul in a thousand different ways”- Oscar Wilde. I always knew colour had the power to influence emotions. My unconscious mind was well aware of the fact that blue makes me happy and brown makes me disgusted. However, after doing this project and understanding the context behind colours enabled me to realise these things with my conscious mind as well. It allowed me to expand my sense of colour and there association with feelings and emotions. I was really intrigued by the variety for approaches adopted to conduct our inquiry, ranging from google research to peer learning and interaction. It allowed me to learn from my friends and class mates and understand there different perspectives and different personalities. The survey also helped me get a more broader perspective on the understanding of colour while the readings helped me understand my unconscious reaction to colour in a better way. I was really glad that I got the reading four, because I was always really interested in branding and marketing. I kept thinking how my peers were unlucky because they had to read what I assumed to be boring. However, once again I was proven wrong during the group discussion. Listening to my peers explain there reading and sharing there knowledge made me realise that no aspect of colour is boring.
I never liked watching movies, for me they were just scripted scenes with extremely well planned out dialogue that would just never happen in real life. But surprisingly, I was the most excited about the movie project. It suddenly made me remember all the films I have watched, which were few, and made me realise how much I had missed. I recognised the art of film making and how big of an influence colour makes and it made me wanna watch movies just to see the use of colour.
The final responsive writing for me was really easy thanks to the multiple reflective writings that we did after every project. In the end I was able to simply compile the thoughts from all my thoughts into one responsive writing. Unlike the school Method of teaching, which is based on road memory. I really appreciate the IIAD Teaching method which encourages us to learn through experiences and material manipulation.
This project has sensitised me towards the importance of colour and itʼs use in the creation of various artworks. Some of my key learnings from this project include my now better understanding of hues, tints, shades and values as well as a better insight into the human psychology.
All and all I can confidently say that Iʼll come out of this project as a person who
has a better sense of colour and is ready to apply this knowledge to the real life to achieve my dream of becoming a designer.

Hi Rashika
Your exploration of the colour red is exciting... I especially enjoyed the post about Colour Association & Symbolism (Mind-Map).
I also enjoyed reading your short account of the experience with EoC project. It was a breezy reading as you have combined the various topics that were listed in the brief for Learner's Journey Log and written a single account. To improve your account of Learner's log in future, add visuals of your work to support your writing - it will be more engaging for the reader and you will be able to explain yourself better if you take an example of your work to make a point.
Furthermore, currently your writing is more descriptive of the experience (What…
