I walked into this project prepared to have a hectic working schedule like most of the other projects. However the approach taken in one square yard surprised me. I had expected to get assignments with clear and crisp guidelines, instead I was met with a vague brief with endless possibilities of exploration. Initially I had some difficulty adjusting to this new approach. My creativity was at an all time low. I felt like I had nothing to do because I was so used to being overloaded with work, that the pressure was now a part of my thinking process. I was also extremely confused in the beginning about how to go about my experiments. However, after the first few days, this approach felt liberating. I had the freedom to do whatever I desired. I found myself in a state of mental peace where I was doing the experiments not to meet a “limit” or just to submit and assignment, but rather to enjoy and explore.
In general this week was like a rollercoaster. I don’t think I performed by best, which leads me to believe that I am an under pressure worker. But at the same time, this approach and project was an extremely great way for me to exercise my creativity that sometimes becomes too logical in its approach.
